Drinks Reception with Lord Mcinnes of Kilwinning, CEO of the Conservative Party
Lord McInnes was appointed last autumn as the Conservative Party's CEO and is working to rebuild it. He was the director of the Scottish Conservative Party and was at the heart of the team that led to the revival of the Scottish Conservative Party with Ruth Davidson.
Whilst having both the strategic insight and campaigning ability required in his previous roles, Mark also served for 14 years on Edinburgh City Council, which gave him valuable insight into the importance of Local Government.
It was widely acknowledged that Mark played a crucial role in both the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum and the subsequent rejuvenation of the Scottish Conservatives. During this time, Mark worked closely on a cross-party basis with politicians from all of the United Kingdom’s main parties. He has served as a constitutional advisor to three British Prime Ministers, designing and implementing strategies to strengthen the constitutional settlement in the United Kingdom.
He was appointed to take over the position of Chief Executive of the Conservative Party from Lord Massey. He is tasked with replicating his previous success In Scotland, and preparing the Conservative Party for the coming challenges. He will be with us at the request of the Association's Patrons Club. It will be our last Social event before the Camden and Haringey local elections commence on 23rd March.
