Robert Jenrick Addresses Hampstead & Highgate Conservatives

Robert Jenrick, Shadow Secretary of State for Justice, delivered compelling insights to the Hampstead & Highgate Conservative Association – the contrast couldn’t have been greater between the lovely British summer garden party and the bleakness that besets our Nation thanks to our neighbouring MP, Sir Keir Starmer.

The Shadow Secretary of State highlighted how the Labour Government is truly failing the hardworking people of the UK, failing to take the necessary action to stop illegal arrivals, and how appalling it is that our Prime Minister, a trained lawyer no less, is creating a two-tier justice system.  How two-tier Starmer is changing our justice system in ways that will truly undermine the British people’s belief in fairness and equality before the law.

The Shadow Secretary of State conveyed the public’s incredulity at a government that talks of growth, yet increases taxes on jobs, attacks hard-working farms, and trusts in a Business Secretary who had the gumption to lie on his CV.

Yet Mr Jenrick’s gravest criticism was saved for Sir Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London. After more than 9 years of Labour rule, London’s role in the world has been diminished. Under this Labour Government, the quality of life for Londoners and people across the country will not improve.  Robert cited the British Futures report from July 15th, which warns "Communal life in Britain is under threat." www.britishfuture.org/state-of-us-report-news-story

From accosting fare-doggers to challenging massive inconsistencies in our sentencing practices, it’s the energetic, slim size – Shadow Secretary of State for Justice that lifted the spirits of the Hampstead & Highgate membership yesterday.

Ewan Cameron, Deputy Chairman (Political)
